Description: This is an exceptional career opportunity with the UK division of one of the world’s top industrial groups, a substantial, multi-sited business, distributed across the UK and Ireland, incorporating a range of market leading brands throughout its chosen sectors. It is pursuing an ambitious growth programme that will see further expansion through a combination of acquisitions and greenfield opportunities. This key appointment is part of a structured programme designed to groom outstanding individuals for future managing director positions.
You will initially focus on an emerging business that is operating within a rapidly developing market. Your brief will include setting up a category management function to address customer and market segmentation, supervising a product team, opening new branches and contributing to the acquisitions process. Reporting at board level, you will also be asked to look at wider strategic issues associated with one of the group’s other market areas as part of a broad based and challenging remit. There is the real opportunity for you to become managing director of a £100m business within two years.

At a personal level you should be good with people, offer an approachable, credible and direct style of leadership, together with the capacity to inspire colleagues at all levels.
